WHAT IS A TEAM?
As mentioned above, a team is a group of ten or more people who choose to enjoy the walk together. Teams come from all sectors of our community: corporations, small businesses, faith groups, schools, community organizations, families, sports teams/fitness groups and service clubs. There are no limits to who can be a part of your team – invite colleagues, customers, club members, friends, and family to join you. Children and pets are welcome too!
WHY WALK AS A TEAM?
It's Fun - Walking with a group is more fun than walking alone!
To Build Morale - Working together to raise money for a worthy cause is a great morale builder for all types of companies, schools, and organizations. The Walk will be a day of celebration and community; it’s a time for fellowship outside the work or school environment and it’s a great reason for friends and family to get together.
To Be Visible - Wear team T-shirts or caps; carry banners or placards; wear costumes; or sing/cheer along the walk route to promote your business or organization. Win Team Awards - Each registered team has the chance to be awarded Team Challenge Awards.
WHAT IS A TEAM CAPTAIN?
The main role of a team captain is to promote Jessica’s Footprint: A Walk in the Park and recruit as many walkers as possible for their team. Specific responsibilities and tips on how to build and motivate your team, raise funds, and get the most out of the experience are provided in the Team Captain Guide.
WHAT IS A TEAM COACH?
A Team Coach is an experienced volunteer whose job it is to offer advice, support, and resources. Contact Colleen Ireland or Geraldine McKay if you have any questions.

WHAT IS THE PLEDGE FORM?
The Pledge Form has been created for you to record information if you are gathering sponsorships in person. If you are directing people to sponsor you on-line then this form is not necessary.
WHAT IS THE TEAM SUMMARY FORM?
Team Captains fill in the Team Summary Form as a record and sum of everyone’s pledges on their team. The preferred method is via email in Excel format. The Team Summary Form is submitted on the day of the walk (along with the money raised) when teams register at the park and pick up their team’s T-shirts.
